CapeTown HS is a 2013 stallion by Dakota VDL. Dakota VDL was imported from Holland as a 4 year old and was the top horse sold at the WEF sporthorse auction. Dakota VDL is an incredibly talented young son of Casall ASK, one of the most successful jump horses today. In 2014 Dakota VDL won the $10,000 WEF Adequan 6 year old final as well as the 6 year old final in Chantilly, France CSI5. The grandsire of CapeTown HS, is the world famous Casall ASK. Casall Ask started out on the international circuit with Sweden’s Rolf Goran Bengtsson in 2008 and has had a prolific career with the rider ever since. Wins include the 2009 Rikstoto Trophy, 2010 Rotterdam Grand Prix and Falsterbo Grand Prix, 2011 GCT Hamburg Grand Prix and Lyon FEI World Cup Qualifier, and 4th individually in the 2013 European Championships. Casall represented Sweden in the 2012 London Olympic Games and qualified for three consecutive FEI World Cup Finals in 2011/12/13, finishing in the top six in 2012 and 2013. He has also had some very significant wins in 2014, however his accomplishments are too numerous to list. His breeding performance is highly impressive as well. His daughters Vontessa, Akimba, and Cascada I won the Elmshorn elite mare show in 2008, 2011, and 2013. His son Casalito became champion stallion of the 2013 Neumünster stallion grading. Moreover, two Casall sons won reserve champion stallion, Catch it in 2009 and Cascadello, which sold at a recordbreaking 600.000 euros, in 2011. So far, 40 sons have been licensed for breeding and he has produced 44 state premium mares. CapeTown’s damsire is Lux Z. Lux Z competed at the elite level of international showjumping under Jerry Smit. He won the Pulsar Tour Grand Prix at both Valkenswaard and Cannes and competed at both 2002 Olympics in Sydney and the World Equestrian Games at Jerez.
